Describe the main character in detail.

I am reading the book, A Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer. The main character is David. As a child he is beaten by his mother. He is a very nice young boy and I feel sorry for him because he has an awful childhood. David is abused by his mother. He has scars, bruises, and cuts all over his body. He wears the same clothes each day because his mother wants him to  be embarrassed. David's hygiene is not good, he smells rather bad and the kids at school plug their nose as he walks by. Through all the hatred he still goes to school because he can escape from his evil mother. David is emotionally unsound. He is scared of everything because no matter what he will get beaten. He tries his best not to trigger his mother's anger but she goes off on him no matter what. David will never be the same emotionally from all the trauma he has been put through. Although he lives an awful life David is still a good kid. He tries to take pride in his studies to free himself from his mother. He is very nice to others and he is a generous and good-mannered boy.  He would never do anything to hurt anyone and he is nice other despite the taunting he might get. I would say it is a great accomplishment to go through what David has and still pick the good things out in life and be a good kid at that.
