Character I am least like.

There are not very many characters in Where She Went but I would say I am least like Adam. Adam is very dark and depressed right at this time because he misses Mia. He is a rock star and I happen to hate rock music and all of that. Adam also has taken to drinking a lot which is one of my pet peeves; I hate drinkers. Overall me and Adam are two very separate and different individuals. I like sports and happy thinks. I make the best of every situation and cherish everyday I have because I do not know when I may leave. Adam dreads everyday that comes he just wants it over with. His life without Mia has made him bitter and that is nothing like me. If I were in his situation I would pick myself up from  my loss and get better. By making the situation  at hand better he would only benefit himself in the long run. Additionally, I could go on and on about Adam and I's differences but I think I have summed it up pretty well.

Main character's Problem

Adam, Mia's ex-boyfriend, in "Where She Went" faces many problems. In this book Adam is facing depression over Mia leaving him. He does not sleep, he is unkempt, he has bad anxiety, and he gets worked up very easily. He loved Mia and her loss is too much to handle for him at this time. He is a famous rock star but he hates his life. He cannot even enjoy his fame and fortune because of the burden Mia has left on his life by leaving. She didn't give him an explanation and that is weighing very heavily on him. His current girlfriend Bree is perfect. Any guy would dream of having her, but not Adam. To Adam, Mia is perfect and she is the only one that can satisfy him. Adam could easily just move on  and marry Bree but he is still in love with Mia and he always will be. Hopefully they find their way back to each other to make the hurt go away and to be happy again.

Character I am most Like

I would say I am most like Mia. Her determination and dedication playing music reminds me of myself in sports. Mia is a great person and she is a very talented young lady. I try my best and always want to succeed in sports. I have a will to win and when I don't I get mad. Mia didn't give up even though she could have after all that happened to her over the past years. I have had several surgeries just like Mia and I understand how she feels. Rehab is one of the worst stages because it is very hard and grueling. Also, in this book for Mia boys come after music and for me sports always come first. Boys should never affects how I play. Mia is a very strong willed young girl and I like to believe I also am. She can be stubborn at times too, just as I am too. In conclusion Mia and I are very much alike as you can see from my evidence.

Solving the Problem in My Book

If I were to solve the problem in my book I would help Adam find his way back to Mia. Mia left Adam when she left college to attend Julliard because they were taking different paths in life. Though they were both very hurt Adam took this very hard. Adam developed anxiety and distress. Everyday for him was an eternal burden and he could not handle it. He was basically falling off the tracks. Right now he is a big shot rock star and nobody sees the difference in his attitudes. Everyone suspects he is just living up his crazy life as a rock star and nobody suspects anything could be wrong; besides he can do what he wants now. Adam realizes one day, as he is walking down the street that Mia is playing in Carnegie Hall and he goes to watch her. He just wants to hear her play. I do not know what happens yet but if I could solve Adam missing Mia I would. I would get them back together and they would be able to work out their differences and work together like they used. They may even fall in love again like they both did with music. Mainly, Mia and Adam just need to see each other in person and realize that they cannot live without each other. That would solve my problem in my book.

Change Something In the Story

If I could change one thing in this story so far I would make Teddy, Mia's brother live. I don't think Mia would even consider letting go if Teddy lived. Also, I think her decisions would be different.  I really wish Mia would have someone in her family to be living with. She would be able to grieve with Teddy and get through this tragedy together. Adam and her will go separate ways cause he does not understand the extent of what she is going through and he is also overbearing for her. It is very sad when Teddy dies and I just wish he would live. This would change everything in this story because Mia would not be alone and living her own life. Anyway, that is the event I would change in this story and I have said my reasons for that.

Three Big Questions

I have three big questions at this time. The first would be, "What is going to happen to her and her brother if they do live?" The second is, "Will she choose to stay with Adam, her boyfriend?" Lastly, my third question is, "How exactly did the accident happen?" I am only to the beginning of this book so I do have several questions about it. If I Stay is a very good book so far and it keeps my attention. These question I have will not be answered till the end of this book because some are based on the whole story. I hope to find at least one answer to one of my questions soon.

Major Conflict

There are many major conflicts in this book. At this point Susie, the dead main character's dad is going crazy without her. The household is out of order. Her mother is shutting her father out and will not except his comfort. When her father goes out thinking that the murderer is striking again he fails and is hurt badly. Her mother then cheats on her father to forget about her death and feel something again. Lynsey becomes a woman and everyone is trying to move on from her death. They are not getting any closer to her murderer and everyone has given up but her father. Her father is the only persistent person looking for her killer. Her mother only trusts Len because she has secret feelings for him. Susie does not know what to do because her old world on Earth is falling apart before her eyes and she can't do anything to stop it. The conflicts are all based on the frustration that comes from her loss.
